The Original TC guys

I have a few thoughts and questions about the original TC team. As we all know, writing complex software usually involved lots of hard work, and little thanks. So much so, that people easily get discouraged and tell everyone "eff you, I'm done!" This even happens with very useful, needed software, ie Remastersys. People get burned out and user questions can have a sense of entitlement even though no one promised them tech support.

So, if you are an original TC developer: Thank You. You guys rock, and TC was an elegant, cool project.

Now to the Csh (Ciphershed) team: is it possible that the original TC team had people who were tired of it, and also talented people who were ready to keep going? Perhaps some original TC people are already on the Csh team or would like to join the Csh team? I doubt TC was a one person show, even though the take down reminded me of a one-person temper tantrum. I don't want to get into that. (There are a million ways TC could have closed their site better with dignity and clarity, but that not today's issue.)

Does anyone know if any of the original TC people are interested in keeping going? Good people with TC may have been against the site's sudden closing and forum's sudden closing. Are they already here? Should they be reached out to (perhaps an open letter)? Is that overkill; is the code really so hard to deal-with, without them? The TC take down reminded me of a talented group with an impulsive immature leader at the top. Perhaps the others, if they exist, should be reached out to and welcomed?

It would be great to have them involved, even if only in an advisory role.

Would be nice, but that takedown looked far too much like "I never want to even think about this again"
Who knows though, maybe after a while somone will look at what's happening and speak up?
Of course it could get very awkward if they didn't like the direction things were going.

The TrueCrypt team has already stated that they personally feel that a fork would be harmful.

It's still debated if this was a team or an individual :-P

The TrueCrypt project ended because the developer(s) stated "there is no longer interest [in maintaining the project]." I doubt they'd show up on a fork.
