Anroid Kitkat or Lolipop?

I feel like I must be missing something since I've searched the list and not a mention of any portable/mobile solution for the Android platform.

I'm surprised because few of our devices are more subject to loss or theft or seizure than our cellular phones and tablets.

There have been several encryption choices and even now supposedly a native one, but i personally would be leery of encryption provided by Google or Samsung...

Am I missing something?

It's probably hard to find mention of mobile devices on the mailing list because the conversations regarding them are on our old mailing list. I think this is the first message of the thread that really hit the topic: http://www.freelists.org/post/ciphershed/Supporting-mobile-devices. I have also attached an archive of the thread in file form. They were saved with ThunderBird, and I'm not sure whether or not this form is common in mail clients. The contents are just the message source of the emails.

As you will see in the by the thread, it's not a rejected idea. It is of significant importance to a few of the developers. If you look through the FreeLists archive, though, there are more mentions (but brief) of how we might support mobile with Java ports. Someone even presented us with a Java port of TrueCrypt that can actually open volumes. I can't remember if there were limitations with the port, but the existence of this port is extremely significant as it gives us a head start into mobile development.

There are at least 2 Android solutions for I found.

One is closed source(EDS Lite) and can mount TC FAT32 volumes without rooting, other one is Cryptonite which does not open volumes until device rooted.

Details of use case are here https://github.com/neurodroid/cryptonite/issues/75.
