Questions

Maybe I have been looking in the wrong place for the answers to these questions, but we are looking very intently at using CipherShed upon release and have a few questions:

1. When is the anticipated release date for CipherShed?

2. Do you have a list of supported Operating Systems and versions?

3. Will the vulnerabilities found in the latest release of TrueCrypt be addressed/remedied with the alpha release of CipherShed?

Thank you and sorry if I have been looking in the wrong places for this information.

1. No idea, sorry. I must admit things seem to be taking a long time. :(

2. The first release will be the same as it was for the original TC.

3. Not sure yet. Until there is a release of ciphershed you could use veracrypt. It is supposed to have addressed all the issues in the report. I cannot offer any warranty for it's security though, neither can anyone else. It should however provide something to use until ciphershed's release.

Re: Questions about 64 bits portable release

Postby petitlou60 » Thu Oct 30, 2014 9:53 am

Hello,

To day in order to be able to restore my windows 8.1 i am using standalone version of macrium reflect wich is based on windows pe environment.
This reside on an usb key which also contains an true crypt container with macrium system image and data inside it

after booting and starting macrium standalone i use portable truecrypt to open truecrypt container and use image but i have a problem
truecrypt starter is a 32 bit program which in turn load either truecrypt.sys or truecrypt64.sys, but windows pe 64 bits don't contains sywow directory
needed to handle 32 bits applications!!!!

so i must use 32 bit windows pe which does not boot in uefi mode, i nedd to enable CSM (compatibility mode) which is less secure

So the solution to this problem is simple : have two starter one 32 bit and one 64 bit

What do you plan in ciphershed about this problem

Best regards

I am using the alpha version for windows, I am also a avid linux user. I use truecyypt because of its cross platform abilities, when will this be available for linux or if the exe or zip works for linux please tell me how. I am not deterred by what may be not safe I would however like to upgrade my Linux os's as well
